Borrow and return your library books from our newest location, Derrimut Community Centre.
Brimbank Libraries is launching its first Book Locker at Derrimut Community Centre on Monday, 4 August 2025.
The Book Locker is a free, contactless service that offers a quick and convenient way for full Brimbank Libraries members to browse, borrow, return or collect reserved items during Derrimut Community Centre’s opening hours.
Similar to a parcel locker or a vending machine, you’ll be able to browse the collection held within the locker using its easy-to-use touchscreen, and borrow your chosen items using your library card.
You can also select the locker as a pickup point when reserving items through our online catalogue. Once your items have been loaded into the locker, you’ll receive an email or SMS letting you know they’re ready for pickup. The locker is available between 7am-6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Returns are just as easy – simply place your items in the locker’s internal secure chute. Please note that items aren’t immediately checked in when returned this way, so there may be a short delay before they’re removed from your account.
The Derrimut location was chosen following careful evaluation. Co-located with MCH, childcare and kindergarten services, this new Library access point is part of our response to the growing demand for library resources in Derrimut and the surrounding communities.
To celebrate the launch, library staff will be onsite throughout the week to introduce you to the locker, sign up new members, and share more about our services and programs.
Launch Week: August 4–8
During launch week, library staff will be onsite at the Book Locker during the following times:
Monday 4 August: 9am–12pm & 3pm–5pm
Tuesday 5 August: 3pm–5pm
Wednesday 6 August: 3pm–5pm
Thursday 7 August: 3pm–5pm
Friday 8 August: 3pm–5pm
