Our libraries are places where everyone belongs. In March, we celebrate culture, language and community, with Cultural Diversity Week and Harmony Week taking place across Australia.
Love Your Library in Your Language runs throughout March, and is a chance for people from all cultures to share what their library means to them.
We invite you to write a short message to your library in your preferred language – the language you speak at home.
How to take part:
When you visit the library in March:
- Pick up a Love Your Library in Your Language postcard
- Write a message about what the library means to you – in any language you like
- Return your postcard so we can display it in the library
Examples of what you might like to write about:
- how the library helped you learn English
- a favourite book you discovered
- a program you enjoyed
- why the library is important to you and your family
During the campaign, these messages are displayed in the library so everyone can see and celebrate the many languages in our community.
Love Your Library in Your Language is coordinated by the Public Libraries Victoria (PLV), supported by the Victorian Government and CAVAL.
