NAIDOC Week (5-12 July 2026) marks 50 years of celebrating the history, cultures, achievements, and enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2026, “50 Years of Deadly,” celebrates the people and communities who have shaped the NAIDOC movement over the past five decades. It honours the Elders, leaders, artists, and advocates whose resilience, knowledge, and leadership continue to inspire future generations.
This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on the stories, cultures, and achievements that have strengthened communities and contributed to a deeper understanding of First Nations histories across Australia. It also looks to the future, recognising the next generation who will continue to lead, share culture, and build lasting change.
Throughout the week, we encourage you to explore our collection of books and resources that celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. For more information, visit our First Nations in Brimbank page.
