Did you know that you can use your library card to borrow seed packets from our Brimbank Seed Library?

The Seed Library is currently located at our Sydenham branch and contains heirloom seeds such as herbs, vegetables and edible flowers.

As an extension of our existing Seed Library at Sydenham, we are thrilled to launch our Garden Library, an exciting initiative that encompasses our second Seed Library branch, gardening club, and outdoor community garden boxes.

The launch will take place on Monday 23rd June 1pm at Keilor Library and everyone is welcome! Register here to attend

The Brimbank Libraries Garden Library invites you to explore sustainable gardening practices through seed accessibility, social gardening practices and engaging workshops. These services are available to all community members at no cost with a library membership.

How does the Seed Library work?
  1. Borrow 1 seed pack per month at no charge with your library membership
  2. Grow your seeds at home in a pot or as part of our gardening club
  3. Harvest seeds after fruit and veggie crops have finished
  4. Donate your new harvested heirloom seeds back to the Brimbank Seed Library to get extra seed packs per month
